Everything I make with Claude starts with one folder. Reels, images, emails, landing pages. All of it.
Claude is brilliant, but it doesn't know your brand until you show it. Give it a messy folder and you get generic. Give it a good one and it nails your look and your voice on the first try. Here's what's in mine.
What goes in it
- Your fonts. The actual font files, .otf or .ttf. Ask your designer, or find them wherever you bought them. No brand fonts? Pick one or two free ones from Google Fonts and download them.
- Your colour palette. Every colour with its hex code (like #E9190F). A note with the codes is perfect. Say which is your main colour and which are accents.
- Your logos. Every version you have: full colour, black, white, and the little icon one. PNGs with a see-through background are the most useful.
- Your brand board or guidelines. If a designer made you one, the PDF goes in. If not, keep reading, Claude can help you make one.
- Reference images. 10 to 20 images that feel like your brand: your best posts, reels you wish you'd made, screenshots of your Pinterest board. This is where Claude learns the vibe.
- Your voice. A note with how you talk: words you love, words you'd never say, and a few captions or emails you're proud of. Ours says things like "cheeky bestie, never preachy".
How I set it up
I keep mine in Google Drive so I can hand it to anyone: Claude, a designer, a store that wants our logo. Make one folder called Brand with these inside:
- Fonts
- Colours (your hex code note)
- Logos
- Brand board
- Reference images
- Voice
- Products (label files and real photos of each product, if you sell physical things)
Already in Canva? Sync it
If your brand lives in Canva, you don't have to dig it all out by hand. Connect Canva to Claude and it can read your Brand Kit (colours, fonts and logos) and look through your designs to learn your style.
- Connect Canva. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors, find Canva and tap Connect. Sign in and allow access.
- Ask Claude to pull your brand. Use the prompt below. It reads your Brand Kit and your best designs and writes it all into your brand folder.
- Grab your font files. Canva shares font names, but you can't download most of Canva's own fonts. If it's a Google Font, Claude can find the free download. If you uploaded your own fonts to Canva, add those same files to your folder.
Look at my Canva Brand Kit and my most recent designs. Pull out my colours with hex codes, my font names, my logos and the style of my designs (layouts, photo style, how I use text). Save it all in my brand folder as a brand board and a short style note, download my logos, and tell me which fonts are free to download and which I need to find.
No brand board yet? Make one with Claude
Plenty of us started with a logo and good intentions. That's fine. Point Claude at what you've already got and it'll pull your brand out of it.
Here's my website [link], my Instagram [handle or screenshots] and some images I love [attach]. Pull out my brand: colours with hex codes, the fonts I seem to use (or suggest free Google Fonts that match), the photo style, and how I write. Make it into a one-page brand board and a short voice guide. Ask me anything you're unsure about.
Then teach Claude your brand
Here's my brand folder [attach or share the Drive folder]. Study all of it: fonts, colours, logos, brand board, reference images and my voice notes. Write me a brand rulebook you'll check before anything you make for me, and save it so you use it in every future chat. Then show me 3 quick examples so I can tell you what's off.
Then correct it like a bestie. "Too corporate." "That's not our red." "I'd never say that." It listens, and it gets better every time.
